| MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: |
|
What's important? Is it a Packer victory? Nope. |

If you're sick, hurting
or no longer alive, none of these things matter. They're not
important at all. "The Pickle Jar Theory" simplifies a sensible approach to putting your life's priorities in line. You've all probably heard about the concept before. But it never hurts to be reminded. Your life is like a pickle jar. If you take the pickle jar and fill it with water, anything you add will cause it to overflow. Instead, take the same pickle jar and fill it with large rocks until you can fill it no more, then add some pebbles and let them fill in the spaces between the rocks. Is it full yet? Nope. Pour in some sand until the pickle jar is full, then add water until it is completely full. THIS IS YOUR LIFE! The large rocks represent the most important things in your life = Your health, family & friends, religion, job. The pebbles represent the things you enjoy = Hunting, fishing, shopping, sports, reading, playing cards. The sand represents the little things you have to do = Pay the bills, get the kids to school, fix the car. The water represents the things that clutter up our lives and get in everywhere = Phone calls, cleaning up after the kids, shoveling snow off the driveway, letting the dog out to pee. If you focus first on the most important things (the large rocks), you will find that there will still be time to do the fun things, do what needs to be done and handle whatever else is thrown at you. If you focus on the little things instead, and lose perspective on what's really important, it will be impossible to fit everything into your life. Why am I reminding you of the Pickle Jar now? Because, we have too many employees or family members dealing with serious health problems. Let's face it, one is too many. Please don't take your health for granted. Every day you wake up healthy is a true blessing. There are many less fortunate people who would trade with you in a second. We're having a helluva year folks. We have a chance of making it our best year ever if we finish it strong. We look forward to handing out some nice "biscuits" in the fall. We would like to see you at "biscuit time" for many more years to come. It's up to you to make it there healthy and fulfilled. It starts with the pickle jar. |
